In addition to paintings, Victor Servranckx made only a few sculptures. This Opus 1 dates from his purely abstract geometrical period that he places between 1921 and 1924. It was executed in bronze, onyx and plaster. In 1923, Servranckx reworked an image of this sculpture two times, each time from a different vantage point, in one of his most monumental canvases, Exaltation of the machine, from the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels. The Museum of Elsene possesses a painting by Servranckx from the same year, Opus 53, with only the depiction of this same sculpture against a uniform background.
